Dolphin Hunts Resume in Japan
Fishing boats are now putting to sea to herd pods of bottlenose dolphins, Risso’s Dolphins, pilot whales and other species into bays where they will be slaughtered for meat or taken into a lifetime of captivity. Twenty thousand dolphins and small whales will die this year and every year until this crime against nature is stopped.
“I have heard the desperate cries of the dolphins as they struggle for air in the confines of the nets. I’ve seen mothers fighting in blood soaked water to find their calves. I’ve watched as young dolphins struggle against their captors wrestling them into slings that will carry them to a lifetime in cement tanks. We must stop this horror and we can” BlueVoice founder and director, Hardy Jones.
