Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy

Just been to see the movie, I really liked it. There were a few bits I felt could have been much better, like Marving voice; it just was not quite right, it just did not sound really depressed. As I first heard it as the original radio show, I guess it was a bit of a shock with all the little America bits that have been added, like Z becoming zee instead of zed. They have done a pretty good job, I would give it eight out of ten. It has already been mention about two more films being made, I hope so. I did like the start of the film with the song "so long and thanks for all the fish" great stuff. Ford and Arthur worked well, Trillian was a bit of a let down, and Zaphod I felt was just rubbish. I,ll go into more detail later, but right now I have a really nice smelling Chinese meal ready to eat.

I saw it on friday and like it very much. I have never read the novels (although I did read the Dirk Gently books and some of his environmental writings), but I didn't feel that I missed too much because of that...

The audience seemed very in to it, it was opening night, and I was amused by the towels that many of the audience brought with them(before I knew their meaning in the storyline, it seemed as if I might have slipped into a porno)

I'm interested in reading the books now and hope to see a sequel. I think the movie pulled down 21 million the first weekend here in the US.

I recomend reading the books, even better try and get an audio copy of the original radio series. I first heard it on radio thats what it was first of all a radio show, the books came after. BBC Radio 4 here in the UK is just about to start the final radio series you can listen online http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/hitchhikers/index.shtml
